Switching from DaySmart Pet to Woof

Step 1: Download your data from DaySmart Pet

In DaySmart Pet's cloud version, its help center says to click More in the top navigation, then Reports, and to "use Export to download a CSV". The reports that help most with a move:

• All Pets: "Includes Client ID, Client Name, Pet Name, Pet Breed, Pet Type, Owner First and Last Visit."
• New Client List: your clients by the date they were added. Pick a date range that starts before your very first client.
• Pet Vaccinations By Expiration Date: pets, their vaccinations and expiry dates, with the owner's contact details. Pick a wide range so every current record is in it.

Do this before you cancel. Once an account is closed, DaySmart Pet says your data comes through a request form as "a full XML backup", and that the request is "a one-time courtesy". Downloading your reports first keeps things simple.

Step 2: Bring it into Woof, your way

Let us do it for you

Email your files to support@woof.net, or send us a Google Drive or Dropbox link. We move your clients, pets, notes and future appointments, and we get started right away. When it's done, you're ready to book.

Or import it yourself

Upload your client list first, then your pets. Woof reads your columns by their headings, splits DaySmart Pet's single "Client Name" into first and last name for you, and shows you exactly what it found before anything is saved. Importing the same file again is safe: clients are matched by their ID or email, so nothing is duplicated.

If anything doesn't look right along the way, no problem: email both files to us and we'll take it from there.

What comes over

• Clients with their email, phone and address
• Pets with species, breed, gender, birthday, weight and colour
• Allergies, medications and vet details
• Vaccine expiry dates for rabies, DHPP, Bordetella and flea and tick
• Your DaySmart Pet client and pet IDs, kept as each record's reference
• Notes and future appointments, when we do the move for you

What you set up yourself

A few things are yours to choose, because they're how your business runs:

• Services, prices and lengths. Prices are never imported, so each one is a price you chose.
• Your online booking link, at woof.net/book/your-name.
• Appointment reminders by text and email, on the days you choose.

Running both while you settle in

There's no need to switch overnight. Book new appointments in Woof, finish the ones already booked in DaySmart Pet, and move over fully once you're comfortable. Woof is free for 30 days and the trial needs no credit card.

What does moving cost?

Nothing. Moving your data is free, whether you do it yourself or we do it for you.

How long does it take?

Most of the work is downloading your reports from DaySmart Pet. If you import them yourself, Woof checks each file and shows you what it will create before anything is saved. If you send them to us, we get started right away.

Will my clients notice?

Your online booking link changes to your Woof link, woof.net/book/your-name, so update it wherever you share it: your website, your social profiles and your Google business profile.

Do I need a credit card to try Woof?

No. Woof is free for 30 days, and the trial needs no credit card.
