How do I change my currency, timezone, date format or language?
Settings › Regional Settings in Woof holds the four settings guessed from your browser at signup: the currency on your prices, the date format, the timezone your appointments and reminders run on, and the language your clients read. Correct any of them there and save.
Open Settings › Regional Settings. The preview on the right shows a sample price, date and time in whatever you choose, so you can see the effect before saving.
Steps
- Currency: the symbol shown on prices, invoices, receipts and reports. Card payments use the currency of your Woof Pay account; this setting is about how amounts are displayed.
- Date format: MM/DD/YYYY or DD/MM/YYYY, used everywhere a date is printed.
- Timezone: the clock your store runs on. Woof preselects the timezone of the computer you signed up from and shows a warning if the browser you are using now disagrees with the saved value.
- Client Language: the language of the messages your clients receive (reminders, confirmations) and of the portal. English, French, Spanish and a dozen others.
- Save.
Dashboard language is English only for now; the select is there but disabled.
Why the timezone matters more than it looks
Everything with a date in Woof is stamped in your store's timezone: today's arrivals on Today, when reminders go out, the date on an invoice, when a check-in happened. A store with no timezone would run on the server's clock, and after a certain hour every evening "today" would already be tomorrow. That is why Woof sets one at signup rather than leaving it blank; if the guess was wrong (you signed up while travelling, say), correct it here and everything follows.
Your staff see the store's day wherever they are. A groomer checking Today from home at midnight still sees the store's date.
Currency and old prices
Changing the currency does not convert anything. Prices and past invoices keep their numbers and show the new symbol.
