How do I book time off for a groomer, or close the store for a holiday?

One groomer away is time off on their schedule editor in Woof. The whole store closed is a closure under Settings › Holidays & Closures, where the suggested public holidays for your region are one click each.

There are two kinds of "not today", and Woof keeps them apart so a groomer's vacation never closes the shop and a holiday never has to be entered per groomer. Both remove the affected times from the calendar and from your booking page. This page satisfies the checklist row "Days off & closures".

One groomer away

  1. Open the groomer's schedule editor (Step 3 of Grooming setup, or their avatar on the calendar › Add time off).
  2. On the Time Off & Closures tab, click Add Time Off.
  3. Choose the type (Vacation or Business Closure), the start and end date, and an optional note.
  4. Save. The groomer's slots on those dates disappear; their weekly schedule is untouched and returns afterwards.

Edit or delete an entry from the same list.

The whole store closed

  1. Open Settings › Holidays & Closures.
  2. Pick your Region (United States or Canada). Suggested holidays lists the upcoming public holidays for this year and the next three; dates you have already closed are hidden. Click Add on each one you close for, or Add all suggested to close for every one listed. On a phone, each holiday's Add button sits under its name.
  3. For anything else (renovations, staff training, a snow day) use Add a custom closure: a name, start and end date, an internal note for staff, and optionally a closed-day message for that closure.
  4. Set the Default closed-day message. Clients who try to book a closed day see it.

Every closure blocks every groomer for those dates. Remove reopens the day.

When appointments are already booked

If a closure covers a day that already has appointments, Woof stops and shows Appointments already booked with the count per day. Close anyway records the closure but leaves those appointments in place; move or cancel them from the calendar. Closing does not cancel anything for you.

What it looks like elsewhere

The calendar shows the day as closed with no open slots, the booking page offers no times, and the setup checklist row ticks when you mark it reviewed. Clients with an appointment on a day you later close are not told automatically; reschedule them and the confirmation goes out then.
