How do I set a groomer's working hours?

Each groomer's weekly schedule in Woof is what makes appointments bookable: on Step 3 of Settings › Grooming, choose Fixed Spots or a Flexible Calendar, set the working days and hours, and the calendar and your booking page follow.

A groomer with no schedule has no open times: nothing to book online, and nothing but force-booking for staff. Schedules are set per groomer, and each groomer needs an account first (Invite your team).

Two ways to schedule

Step 3 of Settings › Grooming asks How do you schedule appointments?

  • Fixed Spots: "I take 2 dogs at 8am, 2 at 10am, 2 at noon." You define drop-off times and how many pets each takes. Good for salons that batch arrivals.
  • Flexible Calendar: appointments are placed by duration inside the groomer's hours. You set the hours, the most pets per day, and a minimum gap between appointments.

Each groomer on Step 3 has a card with a summary of their saved schedule. Edit Schedule opens the card in place, which is the quickest way through: working days, the default start and end, and for a Flexible Calendar the Gap before and after each booking and the Max pets per day. Set those, click Save schedule, and that groomer is bookable. Customize by day on the same card handles a day with different hours or a lunch break. Use the Full schedule editor link for everything else, including time off and per-slot size restrictions.

Steps: the schedule editor

  1. Open the groomer's schedule editor (from Step 3, or from their avatar in the calendar header › Edit weekly schedule).
  2. On Weekly Hours, tick the Working Days and set the default start and end. Match store hours copies your business hours.
  3. Add a break (lunch, say) that applies to every working day.
  4. Use Customize by day for a day that differs: Same as default, Custom hours and breaks, or Off.
  5. For Fixed Spots, add each drop-off slot with how many pets it takes, and which size bands are welcome at that time. For a Flexible Calendar, set Most pets per day and the Minimum gap between appointments.
  6. Save. If existing appointments fall outside the new hours, Woof lists them and asks whether to Save anyway; those appointments stay where they are.

If a groomer says "needs switch"

Changing the store between Fixed Spots and a Flexible Calendar does not rewrite anyone's schedule. Groomers still on the old shape are badged needs switch on their card, and they keep booking on their saved schedule until you open the card and save a new one. Nothing breaks while you work through them, so you can switch the store today and move groomers over one at a time.

A banner above the roster names everyone still on the old shape, so you can see at a glance who is left. Each name is a link that opens that groomer's card.

What the schedule controls

  • The calendar shades each groomer's hours and offers their open slots.
  • Online booking offers only times that fit the schedule, inside your posted business hours (unless you allow booking outside them), and at least your minimum notice ahead.
  • Staff can still book outside the schedule with a custom time; the calendar warns you when you do.

Time off and closures

Holidays, vacations and sick days are not edits to the weekly schedule. Use the Time Off & Closures tab for one groomer, or Settings › Holidays & Closures for the whole store: Days off, holidays and closures.
