How do I send emails from my own email address?
Woof sends every client email from its own verified address with your business name on it, and replies go to the address you verify under Settings › Verify Sender Email. Enter your address, type the six-digit code, done.
Email providers reject messages that claim to come from a domain they cannot verify, so Woof never sends "from" your address. Every confirmation, reminder, receipt and campaign goes out from Woof's verified sending address with your business name as the sender, and when a client hits reply, it reaches the address you set on this page.
Steps
- Open Settings › Verify Sender Email. The status reads Not Configured until you finish.
- Enter Your Business Email Address.
- If it is the same address you log in with, click Use this email: no code is needed.
- For any other address, Woof sends a 6-digit code to it. Enter the code.
- The page shows You're all set! with how your emails will look: sent from Woof's address, replies to yours.
A previously verified address stays active until the new one is confirmed, so nothing bounces in between.
Where the address is used
- Client replies to booking confirmations, reminders and receipts.
- The Reply-To Email shown under Online Booking › Settings › Booking emails.
- The "New online booking" alert and other emails Woof sends to you.
- Campaigns and automated messages under Grow › Automations.
Gmail and Yahoo addresses
They work. A small share of emails may land in the client's Promotions folder; the page tells you so when you enter one. A business address on your own domain avoids that.
Sending from your own domain
If you want emails to leave from your own domain rather than Woof's, use the Contact us link on the page. It needs DNS records on your side, so we set it up with you.
