How do I book a walk-in?

In Woof's booking wizard, click Walk-in on the client step and enter two names, the pet's name and breed, plus a phone if you can get one. The client and pet are created and you book them like anyone else.

Someone walks in with a dog and wants a nail trim now. You do not need the full client form, and you should not book an "anonymous" pet either: every walk-in is a client you can remind, rebook and thank later.

Steps

  1. Open the booking wizard (N, or New booking on the calendar).
  2. On the client step, click Walk-in next to Add New Customer.
  3. Fill in the owner's first name and last name, the pet's name, and pick a breed. Phone is recommended: without a phone or email they cannot get a reminder or a rebook nudge, and the form says so.
  4. Click Save & pick a service. The client and pet are created and the wizard moves to the pet step with the new pet selected.
  5. Pick the service, the time, and book. Check them in from Today straight away if the groom is happening now.

Afterwards

The client is a normal client from the first second: they appear in Clients, the pet can have a photo and vaccination dates added later, and the invoice opens at check-in like any other. You can add the rest of their details (email, address) from the family profile, or ask for a phone number when you send the receipt.

A walk-in buying a product, no service

You do not need a client at all. Start an invoice from New › Create invoice, choose Walk-in Customer, and add the products.

A pet whose groom is finished shows as Ready on the calendar, so a glance at the day tells you who is waiting to go home. It stays that way until you check them out.
