How do I mark a no-show?
Open the appointment in Woof once its time has passed and click Mark No-Show. It stays on the calendar with a badge, counts in the No-Shows & Cancellations report, and can be undone.
Cancelling and not showing up are different things, and Woof records them differently. A cancellation removes the appointment and leaves a note on the pet. A no-show keeps the appointment on the books with a mark, so you can see who does it.
Steps: mark a no-show
- Once the appointment's time has passed, open it from the calendar or Today.
- Click Mark No-Show and confirm. (If they are simply late but coming, Mark Late records that instead.)
- The card stays on the calendar with a No-show badge, the day's No-show tile counts it, and the pet's profile lists it under No Shows.
- Made a mistake? Open it again and click Undo No-Show.
Mark No-Show and Mark Late only appear from the appointment's own day, since neither can have happened before it. Mark Late is there all day, so you can record a "running late" call before the slot starts.
Do not cancel a no-show: cancelling releases the slot and drops the visit from the report.
Cancellation notes
Under Settings › Notifications & Emails, Cancellation log in pet notes writes a note on the pet every time an appointment is cancelled, by staff or by the client online ("Grooming booking for <date> cancelled on <date> by <who>"). Reschedule log in pet notes does the same for moves. Both are off for a new store; turn them on and history accrues from that day.
The report
Insights › No-Shows & Cancellations shows both over a range: no-shows by appointment date, cancellations by the day they were logged, the source (in-house or via the portal), a trend, and Repeat Offenders with two or more events. If cancellation logging is off, the report says so and links to the toggle rather than showing a zero.
Fees
Marking a no-show charges nothing. What you charge, if anything, is set under Settings › Payment Policies and applied by you; Woof does not charge a saved card on its own.
A pet whose groom is finished shows as Ready on the calendar, so a glance at the day tells you who is waiting to go home. It stays that way until you check them out.
