Question

How do I delete a pet?

You do not delete pets in Woof. Set the pet's status to Inactive (or Deceased) and it disappears from booking and reminders while its history stays on every invoice and appointment it was part of.

There is no delete button for a pet, and that is deliberate. A pet is attached to appointments, invoices, check-ins and report cards; deleting it would punch holes in your records and your reports.

Instead, open the pet, click Edit, set Status to Inactive and save. From that moment the pet is not offered anywhere a pet can be chosen, receives no messages, and is gone from the client's portal. Everything it already appears on keeps showing its name. If you change your mind, Reactivate it from the Past pets row.

For a pet that has died, use Deceased rather than Inactive: it shows as a past pet in the client's portal instead of vanishing, and a removal never overwrites a recorded death.

A duplicate

If an import created the same pet twice, set the copy with less history to Inactive. Woof does not merge pets.

A client, not a pet

The same applies to clients. Set them inactive from their profile; their pets follow, their history stays, and they can be reactivated.
