Clients & pets
10 answers about clients & pets in Woof grooming software, one question per page.
- How do I add a new client?
Click New in Woof, choose Add Client, enter the owner's details and their pets, and save. The client and every pet are created together in one form.
- How do I add a pet to an existing client?
Open the client in Woof, click + Add Pet, fill in the name and breed, and save. Every pet lives on its owner's family profile with its own record.
- How do I choose what information I collect about clients and pets?
Settings › Profile Fields in Woof decides what your client and pet forms ask, which answers are required, what clients fill in themselves, the species you accept, your breed list, your size bands and the vaccines you require.
- How do I edit a client's or a pet's details?
Open the family profile in Woof, click the pencil on the owner card or Edit on the pet's tab, change what you need, and save. Nothing is ever deleted; a client or pet you no longer see is set inactive, not lost.
- How do I delete a pet?
You do not delete pets in Woof. Set the pet's status to Inactive (or Deceased) and it disappears from booking and reminders while its history stays on every invoice and appointment it was part of.
- How do I add a photo or a document to a pet?
Open the pet in Woof and click Edit then Upload Pet Photo for the profile photo (crop it so the face fits the circle), or Upload under Files & Documents for a vet letter, registration or PDF. Report cards keep the before and after photos from each visit.
- How do I track pet vaccinations?
Choose which vaccines your store requires under Settings › Profile Fields, then record each pet's expiry dates on its profile in Woof. Clients can upload proof from their portal for you to approve, and expired records can block online booking and trigger reminders.
- What is on a client's profile page?
Woof keeps one page per household: the owner's details and contact buttons on the left, a tab per pet with its vaccinations and alerts, and every action for that family in one place, including Book Appointment and Create Invoice.
- What do I do when a pet passes away or leaves?
Open the pet in Woof, click Edit and set its status to Deceased, or Inactive if it has left the family. It moves to Past pets, drops out of every booking picker and every reminder, and keeps all of its history.
- How do I set up a waiver for clients to sign?
Write your waiver under Settings › Digital Waiver Signing in Woof: general terms every client signs once, plus an optional addendum per service. Clients sign it in the booking flow and a signed copy goes to their profile.
