Can I require vaccines before a client books online?
Yes. Under Schedule › Online Booking › Settings › Vaccination records in Woof, choose warn only (the default), block expired records, or require valid records; which vaccines count comes from Settings › Profile Fields.
Two settings work together. Settings › Profile Fields › Health Requirements says which vaccines your store tracks and which are required. Schedule › Online Booking › Settings › Vaccination records says what the booking page does when a required record is missing or expired.
The three modes
- Warn only (the default): the client sees "Bella's rabies expired on 3 May" on the confirm step and can still book. Recommended while you are still collecting records, and what every store starts with.
- Block expired records: a lapsed record stops the booking; a missing one only warns. Useful when your clients mostly have records on file.
- Require valid records: missing or expired stops the booking.
Whatever the mode, Woof always checks and always shows the client what is missing; the mode only decides whether it blocks. Staff bookings are never blocked; the wizard shows the same warning and lets you override after seeing the paperwork.
Steps
- Open Schedule › Online Booking › Settings and find Vaccination records.
- Pick the mode.
- It is saved as soon as you choose. The impact line under it tells you how many of your pets would be stopped by the stricter modes.
Helping clients keep records current
Clients can upload a vaccination document from My Pets in their portal; it lands on the pet for you to approve, and only an approved date counts for booking. The Vaccination Reminders automation emails them before a record expires and links to that upload.
Cats and unknown species
Requirements apply per species. A pet with no species on file is checked as a dog unless its breed says otherwise.
