How do I email or print a receipt?
Woof emails a receipt automatically when an invoice is paid, whatever the method. Send Receipt re-sends it from the paid invoice or the appointment, and Print Receipt opens the same branded receipt ready to print or save as a PDF.
There is one receipt in Woof, and everyone sees the same one: your logo, address and phone, the items, tax, tip, total, how it was paid and when.
Automatic
When an invoice is closed (cash, card, cheque, split, or the client paying online), the client gets an itemised receipt by email from your business name. Refunds send a refund receipt. This is the Payment confirmation row under Settings › Notifications & Emails; switch it off there if you would rather send receipts by hand.
Steps: send or print by hand
- Right after taking payment, the confirmation screen has Send Receipt and Print Receipt.
- Later, find the invoice under Money › Invoices & Payments › Paid and expand it; the same actions are there, and on the appointment's Invoice & Payment card.
- Send Receipt emails it again to the address on the client's profile (the toast says where it went). It works even when automatic receipts are off.
- Print Receipt opens the receipt page in a new tab with the print dialog ready. Save as PDF from there if the client wants a file.
A client with no email on file cannot be sent a receipt; add one on their profile first, or print.
Clients' side
Every paid invoice sits under Invoices in the client's portal as a receipt, and the link in the receipt email opens it without signing in.
