How do I close the day and count the cash drawer?

Money › Daily Close in Woof is the end-of-day page: the day's revenue by payment method, the close-out checks (pets still here, staff still clocked in, card tips to pay out), the checklist, and the cash count against what the drawer should hold.

Open Money › Daily Close. It shows the store's day (or any past day) and walks the person closing through what has to be true before everyone goes home.

The numbers

Total revenue for the day, split into services and retail, and by how it was paid: cash, card and online, with the transaction count for each. Comparisons against the day before and the same day last week sit beside them.

Close-out checks

The card at the top flags what is still wrong on the floor:

  • Pets still on site: checked in today and never checked out. Boarding pets expected overnight are listed as information, not as an exception.
  • Staff still clocked in: right now, plus any forgotten clock-outs from earlier days. The row links to the Clock In/Out report, where you fix them.
  • Card tips to pay out: tips on today's card payments, per staff member, with an Unassigned line for tips nobody was attributed. Cash tips are not tracked.

The checklist

Work down it: every appointment today has an invoice (Collect Outstanding Payments opens the unpaid ones), the drawer is counted, and so on. Ticking each step is what makes the day read Complete.

Counting the drawer

Cash Reconciliation tells you what the drawer should contain: the sum of today's cash sales, net of change handed back, plus your morning float. Enter your Evening count. The difference is shown; a note explains a mismatch. Save cash sheet keeps the count. The same cash sheet is on Insights › Cash Reconciliation, with a list of every cash invoice for the day, and yesterday for comparison.

Printing

Daily Close Report prints or saves the page as the record for that date.
