How do I move from Gingr to Woof?
Download your database backup from Gingr (Admin › Manage Data › Backup your database) and email it to support@woof.net, and Woof's team moves your clients, pets, notes and future appointments over for you. There is nothing to convert first.
Welcome to Woof! Moving from Gingr is free, and we do the heavy lifting. Gingr gives you your whole database as one file, and we take it from there.
Step 1: Download your database backup from Gingr
- In Gingr, go to Admin › Manage Data › Backup your database.
- The backup downloads to your computer within a few moments. It's a MySQL (.sql) file.
Your Gingr login needs Gingr's Can Backup Database permission to make a backup. Gingr's steps can change; their help article "Backup Your Database" is the authority (checked 2026-10-14).
Step 2: Send it to us
Email the backup to support@woof.net. Database files can be big, so a Google Drive or Dropbox link works best. Send the file just as Gingr gives it to you; there's nothing to convert first.
We move your clients, pets, notes and future appointments, and we get started right away. When it's done, you're ready to book.
Can I import it myself?
Not this one. Woof's importer reads spreadsheets (CSV and Excel), and Gingr's backup is a database file, so this move is one we do for you.
After the move
A few things are yours to choose: your services, prices and lengths (prices are never imported), your online booking link, and your reminders. The setup checklist behind the paw print walks you through each one.
Thanks for letting us know.
