Can I use my own card machine, e-transfer or payment apps with Woof?
Yes. Add each one as a payment method under Settings › Payments in Woof, take the money on your machine or app as you do today, and record it on its tile when you close the invoice.
Yes, whatever you take money with today works with Woof. That includes card machines like Clover, Moneris, Square, Helcim, Global Payments, Chase or TD, and Interac e-Transfer, PayPal, Venmo, Zelle or Cash App. If it takes money, Woof can record it.
The money goes to you the way it does now. Woof keeps the record on the invoice, so your reports and end of day include it.
Add your methods once
- Open Settings › Payments and find In-Person & Other Payment Methods.
- Type a name and click Add, one for each way you get paid: "Card (Moneris)", "E-Transfer", "Venmo".
- Each one becomes a tile in the payment window. Switch off any you don't use.
Name card methods the way you check your money at night. One tile per machine ("Card (Clover)") is simplest. If your machine's report splits by card type, add Visa, Mastercard and Debit instead. More on this list: Which payment methods you accept in store.
At the counter with a card machine
- Woof works out the total on the invoice.
- Run that amount on your card machine.
- In the payment window, pick the machine's tile, enter the tip if there was one, and close the invoice.
If your machine asks the client for a tip, type the same tip into Woof. Then your Woof totals match the machine's end of day report.
E-transfer and payment apps
Record it when the money arrives: open the invoice, pick the tile (E-Transfer, PayPal, Venmo), and close it. If a client is splitting, add a second payment with another method.
Paying ahead or from home? Email Invoice sends the client a page showing what they owe. They send the e-transfer or app payment against it, and you record it when it lands. Clients who still owe show on the Unpaid tab until you do.
Check it at the end of the day
Money › Daily Close shows the day's takings by method. Check each card tile against the machine's batch report, and each app against what landed in the app or your bank.
When you want more: Woof Pay
A few things need the card charged through Woof itself: a card on file, deposits when clients book online, and a Pay button on invoices you email. Those come with Woof Pay. Turn it on whenever you like, and keep your machine and apps as payment methods next to it.
